This is ages 8 and up (nobody is too old).
We encourage creative expression and fresh air! Get your word wranglers ready for Creative Camp-o-sition! We gotta keep their brains working in the summertime too! Shhh… we will keep it a secret that they are using their brains. 🙂
The participants will be matched up with a writing mentor. They will be introduced to different writing styles and techniques, as well as different types of literature.
Then, with their mentor, they will stroll around the farm: pen and journal in hand, taking notes and gathering inspiration. After the ideas start swirling in their mind. It is time to put them on paper. They will find a comfy spot in the grass or on a hay bale and begin to let their story unfold! Their mentor will not invade their creativity. However, they will be there to assist them from Once Upon a time to The End. (depending on their age and writing level). The writing process is designed to be fun and NOT feel like schoolwork. We will turn their work into a lovely book that will support the efforts of The Charm Farm Refuge. They will get published! Selected work will also be featured on our website! A great way for youths to keep their brains working, express their creativity and contribute to a great cause.
The cost is $30 and includes dinner, critter-cuddles, and horse-back riding. Food is served from 5 PM to 5:45PM and family is welcome to join ($7 dollars each additional person).
